"We have such a loving Father in Heaven..."

Hello wonderful friends and family! Let me begin by first saying that I am super short on time and apologize for the brevity of this email, but it has been one heck of a week!

We got a ton of work done and have experienced some great things the past few days. One of which was with a guy we met on Monday named Reggie. We walked up to him while he was smoking a cigarette on the bench and got talking and found out he had talked to the missionaries when he was 12 years old, probably about 14 years ago. He seemed very interested in the copy of the Book of Mormon that we gave him and set up a return appointment for Friday.

So Elder Richards and I met with him yesterday and we taught him the Restoration. It was the first time I had really taught a lesson with just one companion in English and it was the most incredible experience I have had so far teaching! The Spirit was so incredibly strong and he was extremely excited about the fact that the Book of Mormon is so relatable to us and was super open to all the principles of the Restoration. He is really going to be an amazing investigator.

The other great miracle we had this week was with Mary, the girl who was looking for her answer for baptism. She got up to bear her testimony at our testimony meeting on Sunday after the Young Single Adults Conference they had during the weekend and she invited everyone to her baptism. We didn't even know she had mad her decision! So THANK YOU ALL for praying for her! I know Heavenly Father heard your prayers and answered them! We have such a loving Father in Heaven and we should thank Him for absolutely every blessing in our lives!

In other news, we are being dumped on by rain all weekend and that meant riding our bikes in the pouring rain yesterday and walking around campus for hours getting soaked to the point that my scriptures were a little soggy and all the papers in my scripture case were drenched. Fortunately they all dried out and it's all good now!

And today we played ultimate frisbee in the rain/mud for a solid hour and a half and it was insanely fun. I dove for one and slid for about 15 feet before coming to a stop on the sidewalk... just minor cuts and bruises, but what would a day like that be without some scars to tell a story?!

Anyway, I love you all and I know that I am doing the Lord's work. Continue to pray and read your scriptures DAILY and I know that Heavenly Father will protect you from the fiery darts of the adversary. Have an amazing week and share your love with the world!

Love,

Elder LeSueur

"I couldn't be more proud to be a missionary..."

Hello beautiful people! This week has been amazing and has absolutely flown by! As I have said before, I'm scared that these next two years will be a blur and I'll be home before I know it.

I had a much better week than last week with being able to actually contribute to the lessons we have taught and become more comfortable with talking to the people we contact on campus. We have one girl named Mary who has a baptismal date and is progressing wonderfully, but is still waiting on an answer. I'malmost positive that she has already received it, but doesn't know that it was her answer.

Another investigator named Laverne has been having a rough week and said she is going through some depression, so please keep these two ladies in your prayers! I have a very strong testimony of the power of prayer and know that Heavenly Father will answer our prayers and give everyone help who needs it if we pray!

A really cool experience we had with prayer this week was with a guy named Tim who is a member of "Smoker's Square" (where we do a lot of proselyting, ironically) and he had become homeless. He asked us to pray for him, and we did that night, and the next morning he let us know that he had found a place to stay. It might sound coincidental, but I promise that was an answer to our prayers. Prayer is our two-way communication with Heavenly Father and I promise He hears AND responds! Be patient and He will give you exactly what you need.

Anyway, life is great and I couldn't be more proud to be a missionary. Yesterday wewere on campus (campus is dead on Fridays...) and there were several preachers there talking to students about the Bible and stuff. I wasn't offended by them being there and was actually glad to see them concerned for the welfare of these students because there is a TON of help needed at TCC. But when we walked past them, they started preaching to people that we worship the devil and that they should never talk to us. That's when I just felt offended. Haha except a couple of kids thought they were being ridiculous, so they came up and talked to us anyways and told us they were talking smack about us and asked us questions. We all agreed that with the name "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints", we most certainly do NOT worship the devil... Anyway, they helped us out a lot more than they hurt us, so who's on the Lord's side, who? WE ARE!

I'm sorry if this is coming off as kind of an angry email, I promise I love everyone even if they talk smack about me :)

So, we played sand volleyball last night (which was freezing cold because we have had a cold front come through) and I've been dubbed as the best diver in our District. I'm proud of this honor and I will admit I had some pretty sweet diving plays!

Other than that, we had "ramwiches" which is ramen boiled just enough so you can unfold it, then you mix the seasoning with an egg and fry it into the ramen, then add meat and cheese, then throw some bread on both sides and its a great meal! SO GOOD! I highly recommend all you college students to try it because it’s cheap and very filling.

Anyway, I love you all so much and I hope life is going absolutely amazing! Remember that obedience is the first law of heaven and we will be blessed when we are obedient. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we can repent and be forgiven of them and receive His mercy. I love my Savior for this wonderful gift! I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and you willcome closer to Him through reading it. It truly brings happiness and I praythat you all read it daily! I love this Church with all my heart! I love you all and miss you! Be loving and charitable!

"Gosh I love being a missionary..."

Holy cow. This week has been so crazy and amazing and interesting and so many things I don't have words to describe it! For all those who missed it last week, I'm in the Florida Tallahassee Mission waiting for my Visa to come through and I know for sure that me being called here was inspired because it's already been so great!

Just to fill y'all in real quick, I'm serving in a trio with Elder Winter from Idaho and Elder Richards from Canada on Tallahassee Community College campus and from what I have been told, it is by far the best area in the mission, so needless to say, I am pretty stoked. We are on bikes and I'm pretty sure I have just about lost those 10 pounds I gained at the MTC already... It's so fun but SO hard to bike so much every day, it gets to the point that having someone pick us up in a car is the greatest blessing we could get.

We have done so much work already and witnessed so many miracles in finding people just randomly and people who are just so prepared to hear the gospel, I can't believe what I had missed while I was in Provo! The work is so much different on campus, from what I've heard. Planning goes way quick because we pretty much just walk around campus for several hours a day and look for street contacts and the day is way different. I love my companions though! They are great examples and have taught me a ton.

Anyway, we live in a pretty ghetto apartment that smells like smoke, but in my opinion, it's better than the MTC rooms. We got hooked up big time with Genghis Grill twice this week and Applebee's once and people are just way awesome in this Young Single Adult's ward. It's hard to draw the line between being friendswith the kids in the ward and being their missionary, but I think that willcome in time. It's so much work and I am more exhausted than ever at the end of the day, but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Another thing I found to be quite awesome this week was with my personal studies and how they always coincided with one of the lessons we would teach during that day. I'm learning a ton and still developing at crazy rates.

So, today was our first P-Day (it's on Saturday because nobody is on campus) and we started by playing in a softball tournament from 7:30 to 2:30 and I'm going to be super sore tomorrow. I played pretty well, considering my short history of baseball experience, and I had a ton of fun. Another one of the benefits of being in a YSA ward is that they have sweet activities every day except Tuesday and Wednesday and we're always there to bring investigators and such, so I love it. Gosh I love being a missionary! It's true that Heavenly Father looks out for us and provides us with opportunities whenever we are being obedient.

As much as I have wanted to sleep in every morning, I have still gotten up at 6:30 and been as obedient to the schedule as possible, and I promise you that we are being successful for that reason!

A cool thing I learned this week reading in the Book of Mormon was when Jesus was giving the Commandments to the Nephites and was talking about keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. When He says He created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th, basically He says we have no reason to not be able to finish everything in the first 6 days and should devote all day Sunday to resting and thinking of Him. It was cool because I had never thought of it that way before! So I challenge you all to do better at keeping the Sabbath Day Holy as Christ commanded. If you go through and read His commandments, you will also find the blessings that He promises when we keep them faithfully. Also remember that faithfully means doing it because you [want] to and not because you have to. Trust our Heavenly Father and let Him bless you! I promise He loves us and [will bless] us whenever we are obedient :)

I love you all so much and miss you all tons! Please take my word and do the things I ask you to do because I know that I have been blessed for being obedient as a missionary and I want all of you to share that same happiness that comes through being obedient to God's Commandments!

Go bless other people's lives and be a better person each day! "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!"

Love,

Elder LeSueur

"I am being reassigned (temporarily)..."

I found out on Wednesday that I am being reassigned (temporarily) to the Florida Tallahassee Mission! Which, coincidentally, is also kind of deceiving because the only part of Florida in my mission is the panhandle and the rest includes about half of Alabama, half of Georgia, and a little corner of Mississippi. So needless to say, I will be kickin' it with the gators and swamp people for a little while! There is a girl in our Zone from that area and she said we will be fed well, so it looks like I'll continue packing on the pounds for at least another six weeks... She also warned us of using our manners correctly, you know, the "yes ma'am, no ma'am" kind of southern hospitality? Yeah. I don't think it should be a problem getting back into those Prosper roots, but I hope I don't get a bad reputation for forgetting to be polite!

Needless to say, I'm quite excited to get out of the MTC and do some real missionary work. The experience here has been great and it will definitely be weird leaving the people I have been around  for my entire mission so far, especially the 11 other guys in my District, but it's part of progressing

So the other reassignments from my District include Billings Montana, Seattle Washington, Baton Rouge Louisiana, Salt Lake City Central, and Provo Utah. Haha I had to laugh a little about the guys staying in the freezing cold up here for a little longer, but they're in one of the most successful areas in the US so I guess they are willing to sacrifice.

So this week has been extremely rough. I have struggled to stay motivated and diligent in my studies because there has been so much excitement! We have still done a ton of work and I have continued to learn, but I know I could have been doing so much more, so I found myself asking the Lord for forgiveness for wasting His time each night... It's something I'm working on so don't judge!

We have been blessed to hear mission stories from our teachers and have fun with each other since we wont really be seeing each other much after this week. I have grown to love each one of these fine Elders on a personal level and ithasn't been easy, but it has been a great experience! They each have strengths and have taught me so much, I'm so grateful for these past two months. I know this is a principle we can all apply in our lives as we are surrounded with a myriad of people with different personalities and different lessons they can teach us. I challenge each of you to find a lesson you can learn from each person you associate with and understand how that can make you a better human being. Some of the best lessons I have learned have come from times when I have struggled with my companion or struggled with an investigator, but the blessings and lessons that came out of it were worth the temporary displeasure. I want all of you to be the happiest people in the world and I know that you can be by finding the blessings in your life each day and constantly thanking our Heavenly Father for all He has given us. So do that for me and I promise you will see a difference in your life!

One more thing from the Devotional this week. Elder L. Whitney Clayton and his wife spoke about loving one another. A thing Sister Whitney said was that in order to enjoy the thrill and the rush of going down the hill, you have to endure the ascent up the hill first. We can do hard things! Ask the Lord for help and He will undoubtedly help you! Trust Him! I love you all and hope life is going absolutely wonderfully! Be happy and help others share that happiness! Eu amo voces!
